基于 Slackware 的 Linux 發(fā)行版 Zenwalk 已提供 6.0 RC 1 版的下載。Zenwalk 6.0 RC 1 裝載了最近剛發(fā)布的桌面環(huán)境 Xfce 4.6.0，包含 Linux Kernel 2.6.28.7、PAM 授權(quán)、Wicd、OpenOffice.org 3.0.1、Gksu 等。同時(shí)，該版本調(diào)整了 init 腳本，能夠使系統(tǒng)引導(dǎo)更快；改進(jìn)了待機(jī)/休眠功能；Netpkg 添加了 orphan dependencies 和離線操作特性；Zenpanel 集成了磁盤(pán)管理器、Wifi 無(wú)線網(wǎng)絡(luò)管理器。此外，Zenwalk 6.0 RC 1 還加入了新的美工設(shè)計(jì)及應(yīng)用程序。

Jean-Philippe Guillemin has announced the availability of the first release candidate for Zenwalk Linux 6.0, a Slackware-based desktop distribution featuring the newly released Xfce 4.6 desktop: "Zenwalk6.0 RC1 is available. Considering the size of the changelog, whichprobably makes it impossible to upgrade directly from Zenwalk 5.2 (dueto the number of new packages and features), we decided that theversion number should jump to 6.0. Here's a list of the most importantchanges: Linux kernel 2.6.28.7 with gspca (supports many USB webcams);Xfce 4.6; faster boot (tunned init scripts, with realtime I/Oscheduler); PAM authentication has been added to the system; wicd isbecoming the main network configuration tool; OpenOffice.org 3.0.1replaces GNOME Office; improved suspend and hibernate, with Xfce powermanager; new Netpkg with orphan dependencies and offline operationsupport; new artwork...."
